Vacation

First and foremost, I'm a sinner! Here's one of the reasons why. I used to judge all those people that went on vacations to fancy resorts and the such as rich snobs. I would think, "If I even had a chance to go to one of those places, I wouldn't go! I much prefer camping!" We all know that I was just jealous.

Now that I have children I would love to go to one of those resort type places. My in laws have invited my husband and I, with kids of course, to one of their time shares several times. I can't say that there has ever been better vacations than those. I don't know if it was because all the family was there together or that the location was beautiful, relaxing, and free (for us). Perhaps a combination.

A few days ago after Jonathan returned home from the states we set off on a two day vacation provided by the school that Jonathan will be working for for the next two years. I had the two older kids pack their Thomas the Tank Engine backpacks and I packed up stuff for me and the two babies. (Cinci and Jonathan) Ha! And we were off! On yet another adventure. We didn't really know where they were taking us but we had an idea that it would be nice. It was. It was just what I needed. Two days in a place that was safe for the kids, all meals provided, a relaxing location, an inviting swimming pool, etc. The kids had a blast at the pool. The school really went all out to butter us up. I couldn't believe the elegance. I felt really out of place. All the turkish ladies were all dressed up, cliky heels, spaghetti straps, olive skin, glittery lips. During our dinners around the pool the kids really enjoyed staring at the water. Candlelit tables, tinkling of wine glasses, a live band wailing away popular american tunes, and the surrounding chatter of who knows what in turkish. Not something I could get used to but something I could enjoy for two days out of the year.

Swings the kids could push without restraint.
A pond full of geese and ducks.
Hammocks to lounge around in.

Just what daddy needs to treat his jet-lag.
Unlimited ice cream!

We'll have to send you over some of Ali's glittery lipgloss... at least then you'll fit in a little. Now all you need is some silk and high heels. That sound like a really fun, relaxing vacation. Almost as good as a visit to Utah.

It sounds like it was a perfect get away. It looks like an incredible place. Glad you were able to get away for a few days.
